About Us

Mark’s Home Improvement based in Georgina, ON, specializes in home renovations including bathroom, basement, kitchen, main floor and multi room. We also specialize in flooring including engineered hardwood, luxury vinyl and bamboo in addition to tiling including subway, porcelain, ceramic and large format.

We use only the highest quality materials and pride ourselves on our amazing level of quality workmanship and customer service. Owner, Mark Calhoun has over 17 years experience in the field and prides himself in ensuring trust and peace of mind for homeowners!

When not working, you’ll find Mark hiking through the many lush forests all around Toronto, the GTA and beyond.

Meet Mark

I entered the world of self employment in contracting and landscaping in March 2003.

To this day I receive great satisfaction and pleasure working with my hands building beautiful spaces. I feel it is a great honour to be hired to help you, the home owner, realize your dreams and help create beautiful spaces for you to call home.

Construction and renovations is what I do, not who I am.

I am a devoted and loving father to two amazing young adults.

I am a nature lover; time spent in the outdoors is my greatest pleasure.

Not surprisingly I am an animal lover, including my companion Piper, my Border Collie who often accompanies me on job sites when appropriate.

I strive to provide insightful daily communication with my  customers on all things pertaining to the ongoing project, including daily goals, progress reports, any obstacles, etc.

Remaining on budget and on schedule is of paramount importance.

Mark Calhoun to be on site every day. All MHI employees to be fully trained, insured and covered with current WSIB.

We respect your home, and at the conclusion of each and every day a thorough clean up will be completed.

We strive to ensure the most minimal amount of debris and garbage is created by aggressively recycling and repurposing any and all raw materials to the best of our abilities.

Learning & Giving Back

Continued education is very important. Mark Calhoun and all employees partake in furthering our skillset by attending any and all pertinent educational classes throughout our careers.

Giving back to our community is also very important to MHI. We regularly donate our labour free of charge to Shades of Hope Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. As well, from raw materials from our job sites MHI builds and donates bird nesting boxes, bat houses, bird feeders etc…
